Privacy Policy

The short version

Tonite works without an account. Your watch history, saved list, and reactions live on your device, not on our servers. When you ask for recommendations, we send only your selections, never your identity, to generate your picks. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't use third-party tracking.

What we collect

Recommendation requests. When you tap "Find What to Watch," the selections you made (streaming services, mood, who's watching, time available, and any optional filters) are sent to our server to generate your five picks. These requests are processed and answered. We don't build a profile from them, and they aren't linked to your name, email, or any account, because there isn't one.

Nothing else. The app has no sign-in, no contact-list access, no location access, and no advertising or analytics SDKs.

What stays on your device

Your watch history, saved titles, loved/passed reactions, and settings are stored locally on your device. You can erase them at any time from Settings → Data (Clear Watch History, Clear Saved List, Reset Taste Profile). Deleting the app deletes all of it.

How recommendations are generated

Your selections are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI service to generate recommendations, and the ratings and availability shown may come from live web search. Only your viewing preferences are shared for this purpose: no identifiers, no device fingerprint. Anthropic processes this request on our behalf and is not permitted to use it to identify you.

Ratings are sourced from public review aggregators. Streaming availability can change and may vary by region, so treat it as a best effort, not a guarantee.

Notifications

If you turn on the Daily Picks Reminder, your device's push token is used solely to deliver that reminder. Turning the toggle off stops the notifications and removes the token.

Children

Tonite is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If Tonite adds features that change what data is handled, such as optional accounts with cloud sync, this policy will be updated first, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be called out in the app.
